The Mad Dogs Golf KP challenge #5 moved the tour stop to GreenTea (formerly Pagoda Ridge) in Langley. 8 fellows at the ready on an overcast day turning into sunshine, making for a great day of golf. Our putting event had high drama as it looked like Gerard was set to dethrone the 2-time defending champ Kyle, when G drained his first putt and turned in an excellent score... but Chin had other ideas, as the last putter on his last shot, drained the longest putt (40 footer?) right up to the flagstick for an ace and snatching the title. Magical.

The course was recently reconfigured and made for a good track. Congrats to our three KP winners: Jim (2), Jason and Chin, all managing to hit the green in a year when most of us had troubles doing so. The long drive contest was also troublesome as we fired wildly spraying the course, but Ray smartly keep it straight and held on for the honours. Jason did manage to crush a drive on a previous hole, right into his buddies out on the fairway in front on him. Must be true love!
An uncontested KP led to a chipping contest aftewards with more drama amidst great shots up close into the perimeter. Meanwhile Peter was last up and lobbed a dart inside of two feet, bouncing it off an equally awesome shot from Ray, knocking his ball out of the way like a billiards move. Crazy.
Our post-round dinner was at S&L Kitchen, a first time visit for all of us to a swanky restaurant to fuel up after a long round... and thanks to the waitress who chose his raffle number, Ray became the lucky recipient of the Canucks prize draw (courtesy of our generous sponsor, Coach Steve donating tix in absentia). Good times indeed, so on behalf of Kyle and myself, hope to see you all next time (annually on the last Saturday in August).
