2004 WINTER SERIES: GAME #3 REVIEW

Team Carter (Black) 12 vs. Team Jagr (White) 11 OT
Friday, February 6, 2004

In the series' third match Team Carter finally earns their first win and in nail biting fashion ending in an OT thriller... the game featured a first-time-ever line with both Oyes, Sean and Aaron showing up for Team Carter while super-sub Shane Greig appeared yet again to make magic on a line with his buddy Allen Leung for Team Jagr... both teams were wondering why the compeition wasn't closer based on last week's drubbing but this time Team Carter was determined from the get-go and held the lead for most of the game... Team Jagr kept things close never letting the game slip away riding on great efforts by Travis Wong and captain Allen Leung... tonight's matchup also featured sub goalies at both ends with alumni Mike Smith and rarity sub Kelvin Ho manning the pipes... in any case the game was fast and furious but also penalty-free as Team Jagr crawled back to tie the game at 11 aside in the final minutes... as the buzzer rang out, the team began the handshake, but the MDHL has clout in this rink, so the game was extended for the sudden death frame... and what a glorious opportunity for Anthony Chang to rekindle his scoring touch to cap the game winner a few minutes in... looks like we have a series again... 'til next week...

MDHL 3 Stars:
3. Dave Cheung... after a season of seasoning, Dave shows some skill and contributes a few dingers.
2. Mike Smith... no signs of rust in a fine sub outing... and gets the win too!
1. Anthony Chang... great time to find the net... in OT sudden death!
