Viet Cong Express 17 vs. Team Angle 4 A train wreck of a game… for one team. Friday, August 15, 2003
Once in a while during a full moon an MDHL anomaly kicks in... or rather a good 'ol fashioned boot kicking takes place, that in the form of a huge victory for the VC Express over the hapless Team Angle... and now both teams have a taste of being on the wrong end of a train wreck of a game... Team Angle studs, Fraser Stampvincent, Jon Low, and Sean Oye, all missing from the lineup with ne'er a replacement from the former two... ditching on your teammates should be made a capital offense offered some unnamed Team Angle co-captains...
Back to the ice it was a goalfest (for one team) as Albert Chang and Travis Wong both post natural hat tricks... on a different note, Jason Lai had two goals called back (does that count for anything?)... otherwise there were too many redlight goals from all angles including tap-ins and every other way it could cross the line... on a (dimly) bright note for the losing side, Team Angle debuted the youngest sub rookie in Eric Cheng, promising young stud related to one of the MDHL GMs, as rumour has it. Let's hope for a better game next week!
MDHL 3 Stars:
3. Eric Cheng... great debut and holding back without the all-out contact he's used to.
2. Travis Wong... natural hat-trick, in quiet fashion.
1. Albert Chang... natural hat-trick, in spectular fashion, silencing his critics for one evening. |
