Dirty Dogs 8 vs. Likity Split 3 Dogs shut down the high powered opposition and taste victory! Friday, May 30, 2003
The Dogs were sniffing for a win, especially in light of dropping their last game with their new rosters intact. Thankfully, their wish was granted, namely in the form of rookie sub Fraser Stampvincent and his four goals to lead all shooters. Special thanks to Dogs' F Gon "missing in action but you're better off without me" Yip for being AWOL and securing this sub! The so-called first lines on both teams rendered each other rather neutral so it made for a battle of second lines with opportunities abound. And perhaps it was Likity Split feeling just a bit too comfortable with their commanding series lead as when it was all said and done the mighty Split could only muster three goals all night. This included a rather flukey (but embarassing) shot from point man sub D Derek "why thanks, sucker!" Lowe having it inadvertently tipped by C Jason "my heart was in the right place, does that count?" Lai past his goalie.
Otherwise, the 'Dogs held steady with a solid D corps, even admist mild bench confusion in a swap for F and D members leaving only four skaters on the ice for a few moments. Dogs G Mike "us goaltenders get no respect I tell ya" Smith sustains a mild knee injury at the hands of Jackson "they used to call me the goon of this league" Chiu but manages to play the entire game like the trooper he is.
MDHL 3 Stars:
3. Derek Lowe... stellar D play and offensive skills to boot.
2. Mike Smith... what else is new? Another solid outing and a W...
1. Fraser Stampvincent... four dingers makes for a decent impression, wouldn't you say? |
