A brief chronology of the MDHL:

• 1995. League inception, founded by GMs Quan and Lai.
• 1996. Summer roller hockey league format @ Riley Park Arena.
• 1999. Player hockey cards created.
• 1999. League jerseys distributed.
• 1999. Female referee on board.
• 1999. Team captains designated by league voting.
• 2000. Skills competition introduction.
• 2000. First ever league awards by popular vote.
• 2001. MDHL-sponsored group outing to watch Canucks Superskills Event.
• 2002 (Fall). Team MDHL breaks its exhibition game winning streak.
• 2003. Web site launch.
• 2004. Annual skills competition is cancelled (due to lack of volunteers).
• 2005. 1st annual Texas Hold'em tourney is held. Champion? Derek Lowe.
• 2005. Teams expand to 13 skaters aside with 2-hour slots.
• 2008. Relocated to Kerrisdale Arena (due to Olympic construction).
• 2009. Temporary use of Olympic-sized venue at Trout Lake.
• 2010. Red and blue team jerseys introduced. Frank Riccardi joins as co-GM.
